Donald : Since March 22, 1945 Mr. Lapierre has led an impressive life from avionics to maple syrup. After sixteen years of education, two of which were spent at Dorval aeronautical institute, his two first employers were Air Canada in Dorval and United Aircraft in Longueuil. From 1969-1971, he worked at “Veilleux Auto” as an automobile mechanic, from which he left to become an automobile mechanic professor at Polyvalente d’Abenakis in St-Prosper until 1976. He left his job teaching to concentrate only on the fabrication of sugarhouse equipment.

1er atelier (St-Georges)Buildings : Mr. Lapierre began fabricating, collection, filtration and concentration equipment for maple sap in his 12’ x 16’ shop in St-Georges between 1972 and 1976. Quickly running out of space, he built a 28’ x 30’ shop connected directly to his house in St-Georges. In 1978, he made the decision to form a corporation because of the evolution equipment fabrication, in 1979 he acquired his father’s barn32’ x 96’ situated in St-Ludger.

In 1988 it became necessary to construct yet another shop. This time 60’ x 100’ with a 36’ x 30’ office section to conceptualise a new machine, the reverse osmosis. As the years went by the new shop became too small for this growing enterprise needs. This led to the purchase in 1995 of the old 75’ x 200’ Northwire shop situated along side the Chaudière river in St-Ludger, which became a second fabrication and storage space.

In 1997 Mr. Lapierre added an extra 35’ x 60’ space to the already existing shop. He also modified the barn which gave him 65’ x 96’ on two floors. In 1998, he renovated the exterior of the barn giving it the appearance you see today.

Bureau et usine (rue de l'Escale) Personal :In the beginning the business consisted of two employees being Mr. Donald Lapierre and his wife Mrs Paule Lapierre. Over the years the business expanded and more and more employees were hired. Today we are more than 30 employees. Aside from his business Mr. Lapierre is the owner of a 125,000 taps sugarhouse, that he uses as an experimental research center to develop new equipment. This also permits him to guarantee the quality and trustworthiness of his inventions.
